Mechanical Engineering applications provides a quick way to automate most of the tasks involved in optomechanical design work. You can browse the various Apps to have an overview of what is currently available.

Depending on the application you use, the system will provide access to different types data including:

• .NC files. NC files are the industry standard to control CNC machines. Use the NC file export if you intend to manufacture the part yourself using a milling machine or a lathe (application dependant).

• .STEP files. STEP files are the industry standard to exchange 3D parts. Use the STEP file export if you intend to integrate the part into an existing 3D design software like Autocad or SolidWorks, or if you intend to ask a third party to manufacture the part for you.
